Aakanksha Kanojia
I’m Aakanksha Kanojia (she/her) — a Counselling Psychologist & Psychotherapist, and the Founder of HopeAlive Wellness Private Limited. I hold with over 11 years of Counselling and Psychotherapy experience.
My work is integrated, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and depth-oriented — blending emotional safety with structure so that therapy doesn’t stay stuck at understanding.

This practice is built for therapy that is warm, deeply human, non-pathologising, and structured enough to create lasting change — not just insight.

It is paced for real integration—especially for clients navigating attachment wounds, emotional dysregulation, complex relational trauma, self-worth injuries, and relationship patterns.

I work with individuals, couples, and families- who may look like they’re managing life — but internally feel tense, heavy, stuck, reactive, or emotionally tired.

I offer online sessions (India and global) and in-person sessions in Gurugram, Haryana.

Best first step: A short intro call to check fit and recommend a starting path.

Who I support
People come to me for many reasons — not only trauma. I commonly support:

-
Anxiety, stress, burnout, chronic overthinking, hypervigilance
-
Perfectionism, shame, self-criticism, people pleasing, conflict sensitivity, emotional wounds/overwhelm
-
Transitions & identity shifts (including “I don’t feel like myself anymore” phases) i.e. self-worth injuries, shame, identity transitions, body image distress
-
LGBTQIA+ / queer and trans folks* — identity-safe, affirming therapy
-
Relationship concerns and attachment wounds: conflict cycles, rupture & repair, communication, trust, chasing, distancing, fear of abandonment or neglect
-
Family dynamics and patterns shaped by earlier experiences i.e. childhood emotional neglect, criticism, instability, complex relational trauma
-
Children/adolescents and parents: grief and complicated family relationships including grief for a parent who was emotionally absent — or for one who isn’t alive anymore, yet still shapes your inner world.
If you’re unsure whether your concern “counts,” you’re welcome to begin anyway. I will help you find clarity.
How therapy with me feels like
My style is relational, paced, and non-pathologising. We don’t just talk about what happened — we work with what your system learned to do for safety (control, shutdown, people-pleasing, over-functioning, avoidance, overthinking).
Therapy here is not just insight — it’s integration. Our work often includes:

-
Clarity: mapping patterns, triggers, relationship loops, and what your system is protecting you from
-
Capacity: building emotional regulation and nervous-system tools so you can feel without flooding or shutting down
-
Deeper repair (when appropriate): working with root wounds and memory networks safely, at your pace
-
Relational change: boundaries, communication, secure connection, and repair after rupture
-
Integration: changes that hold under real stress, not only in a calm week
We review progress periodically so therapy doesn’t feel endless or vague.
How I work
I use an integrative, evidence-informed approach, choosing methods based on your needs:

-
Mindfulness-based/ Presence-oriented therapy to reduce reactivity and build steadier awareness within the body
-
CBT / REBT / behaviour therapy tools for thought patterns, coping and skill-building
-
EMDR and other trauma based modalities for stuck emotional responses and distressing memories imprints showing up in body and mind.
-
Art/expressive methods when words aren’t enough
-
Queer-affirmative, identity-safe care: where I know, identity is not what needs fixing. The pain around it—shame, fear, rejection, isolation—deserves support. Focussing on strengthening chosen belonging, rebuild self-trust, and navigate relationships, family systems, and society with more steadiness and agency.
